It is with great pleasure that online entertainment 'zine PLAYBACK:stl welcomes its newest comics contributor, EDDIE ARGOS. Best known for fronting the British art-indie rock group Art Brut, Argos is also a self-described comics fanatic, contributing his well-considered ramblings from across the Big Pond.Argos' biweekly column, "Pow! To the People," has already appeared twice. His first offering was on Wanted (the basis for the movie of the same name) and Booster Gold; most recently, Eddie waxed poetic on Angel: After the Fall (based on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff TV show) and the current run of Captain America.
In print four and a half years before going web-only in September 2006, PLAYBACK:stl has long established itself as the place for music, movies, comics and pop culture. The website receives in excess of four million hits per month. PLAYBACK:stl sponsors and presents countless events both locally and nationwide, including the second annual PLAY:stl Music Festival & Conference, returning to the Delmar Loop in St. Louis Sept. 18-2, 2008.
