NME: "Today's boldest club music running riot atop suave vintage rap!! Meldtoday's most explosive club music with the eternally fresh lyrical styles of golden age rap stars and whaddya get? A stunning high point in the continuumof hip-hop history... a must-have for DJs and art collectors worldwide."
Sometimes the spheres align. This summer, Delicious Vinyl revisits two classic songs from legendary alternative rap collective The Pharcyde on The Pharcyde RMXXS, the new single from their lauded Delicious RMXXOLOGY album. Meanwhile, all original members of the Pharcyde — Imani, Bootie Brown, Fatlip & Slimkid3 — reunite throughout June, July, and August as special guests of the Rock The Bells traveling hip-hop festival.
The Pharcyde RMXXS leads off with "Runnin' (Philippians RMX)", a tech-soul treatment by prodigal producer Cory Nitta (aka Philippians) of the smash hit from The Pharcyde's sophomore album Labcabincalifornia. Then there's "4 Better or 4 Worse (DJ Nu-Mark RMXX)", with DJ Nu-Mark (Jurassic 5) laying all-new brushed snare boom-bap beneath the wickedly humorous jam from the group's debut album Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde.
Just as fans old and new flock will thrill to see all original members of The Pharcyde on tour this summer, so will they go nuts for THE PHARCYDE RMXXS.
THE PHARCYDE RMXXS, available on 12-inch vinyl, environment-friendly cardboard slipcase CD, and digital download. All formats come with RMX, RMX instrumental, and acappella versions of both songs.
