The Heavy are wrapping their European tour, and, as promised, are getting ready to cross the Atlantic. In anticipation of their voyage, they’ve released a new EP, called ‘Set Me Free.’ This six-song set features two versions of their new single ‘Set Me Free,’ an alternative version of their last single ‘Coleen,’ and a couple of new tracks: ‘Easier’ and ‘You Don’t Know.’
Those who purchase the EP on iTunes will receive an exclusive bonus track: a cover of Johnny Cash’s ‘Doing My Time,’ that will be included in an upcoming Johnny Cash tribute album called, ‘Johnny Cash Remixed,’ due out on Compadre Records in early 2009.

The Heavy’s ‘That Kind of Man’ will be featured in the premiere episode of ‘Crash,’ a provocative new 13-episode drama series premiering on Starz, on October 17th. Their song ‘Coleen’ will be featured in the next episode, airing October 24th. From the producers of the Academy Award-winning Best Motion Picture, ‘Crash', and starring an ensemble cast led by film icon Dennis Hopper, the series looks at the way different lives intersect and collide in the melting pot of L.A. Their track ‘Our Special Place’ was also featured on Morgans Hotel Group’s third original CD compilation featuring artwork by Shepard Fairey. ‘That Kind of Man’, ‘Coleen’, and ‘Our Special Place’ can be found on The Heavy’s debut album ‘Great Vengeance and Furious Fire’ out now on Counter / +1 Records.
