Tortured Soul has announced their sophomore album, "Did You Miss Me," out March 24th
Tortured Soul was born of the simple yet adventurous belief that modern dance music can be performed completely live. Their unique live performances have astounded audiences around the world, from top nightclubs such as Fabric (London) to 15,000+ crowds at the Montreal Jazz Festival, while their recorded oeuvre pushes the genre boundaries of soul, dance, and pop. Tortured Soul's style is both an echo of the past and a challenge to the future, combining elements of old soul and funk with a modern dancefloor sensibility.
Tortured Soul is proud to introduce their new album Did You Miss Me on the band's own newly formed TSTC Records (released on Dome UK/Europe, Columbia Japan), a 13-song set that picks up right whereIntroducing left off. The title is both a tongue-in-cheek nod to the fans who have been waiting with baited breath for the band's sophomore effort, as well as an allusion to the primary motif of the album -- travel and it's various tribulations.
Tortured Soul will be touring the U.S. later this spring.
JIMMY EAT WORLD CLARITY x 10 TOUR 100% SOLD OUT
Jimmy Eat World's Clarity x 10 tour- a series of 10 one-time-only shows during which the band will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Clarity album by playing the record in its entirety- has completely sold out in advance. The ten shows begin February 23--the 10th anniversary of Clarity's original release date--at Terminal 5 in New York and conclude with a March 7 homecoming at the Marquee Theater in Tempe AZ.
The kick-off of the Clarity x 10 tour will coincide with Jimmy Eat World's second appearance in the Rock Band music store: a 3-pack including "Lucky Denver Mint" from Clarity, as well as the title track from 2004's Futures and "Sweetness" from the 2001's Bleed American. Previously, Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle" was featured on the Rock Band 2 soundtrack. For more information on the Rock Band Music Store and Rock Band 2, please visit www.rockband.com.
Virtually ignored upon its 1999 release, Clarity has since amassed cult status as an overlooked masterpiece. The media ultimately came around to the record when it was reissued last year, with a 4.5 star BLENDER review hailing it as "masterful" and ALTERNATIVE PRESS calling it "one of the most beloved albums of the '90s." Ironically, it was Clarity's initial failure that put Jimmy Eat World on the path to their eventual success: Left to its own devices after being dropped by Capitol, the band built up a base via relentless touring which funded the recording of their platinum-plus 2001 breakthrough Bleed American.

LATE OF THE PIER ARRIVES FOR U.S. SPRING TOUR
Confirmed For 2009 Coachella Festival
"The most thrilling British debut of the year" - The Guardian
"Brilliant." - Rolling Stone
Eclectic modern-rock Nottingham, England quartet LATE OF THE PIER is preparing a month of U.S. tour dates that will span such major springtime festival events as Austin, TX's South By Southwest and south Florida's Winter Music Conference, and will also include a series of headline gigs and an appearance on the closing day of Indio, CA's Coachella Festival (full schedule below).
Praised at its U.K. release last year for its "spirit of invention, its surfeit of ideas and its ear for a good tune" (The Guardian), LATE OF THE PIER's ambitious and genre-confounding album 'FANTASY BLACK CHANNEL' was released January 13th 2009 on Astralwerks in a special U.S. edition with two U.S.-only bonus tracks. The American response was instant, and unanimous: "The quartet's fervent debut, produced by DJ Erol Alkan, offers a fabulous simulation of 80's new wave, with burping, sputtering synths and sleazy, Bowie-inspired crooning from frontman Sam Eastgate," said Spin. Blender was no less of a convert, saying: "(Late of the Pier) have made one of the most vital EPs of the year." Teen Vogue, Billboard, and a host of local papers agreed, praising the band's "loud, feverish thrills" (Marie Claire) and "the most genius, gonzo anthems you'll have heard come the New Year" (Filter).
Now, anticipation of the band's arrival in America is building fast, with LATE OF THE PIER's MySpace.com webpage nearing a total of 4 million audio streams, with individual album tracks well in the mid-six-figure range. "Late of the Pier…can create arena-electro as good as the 80's antecedents that came before them," raved Alternative Press.
"They reference prog, heavy metal, Roxy Music, Blur, Aphex Twin and Gary Numan - often all in the same song," The Guardian continued. "Every time you play this album, you'll find a new favourite song, riff or wayward moment." The Observer called the album a "tour de force comprising glam techno and rave…It's hard to see how (Alkan) or (the group) could spin a more definitive statement."
Late of the Pier is comprised of Sam Eastgate (vocals/guitar), Sam Potter (synths/samplers), Ross Dawson (drums/percussion) and Andrew Faley (bass).

DATAROCK TO DEBUT NEW SONGS AT SXSW
The red tracksuits return to North America in 2009 with new shows, new moves and a brand new album. Norwegian rockers DATAROCK will release their long-awaited and highly anticipated sophomore album RED later this year. However, those lucky ones at SXSW will get an early taste of RED when Datarock headlines both Emo's Annex Stage on March 19 (Windish Showcase) and The Iheartcomix & Jelly NYC present The Texas Nightclub on March 21.
Additionally, the first single "Give It Up" will be released digitally on April 7. In an early blog to fans, Datarock frontman Fredrik Saroea gave some inside information about the making of RED: "We've dug ourselves into the data about the rock of the late seventies & early eighties: the art, the music, the films, the subversive & popular culture, the new theory, the new technology and all that new equipment. The years between '76 and '83 are in all ways the peak of cultural evolution. The zenith, the rise and the fall." The band decreed that all of the equipment used on RED had to be made before 1983. They also called up a new trinity of inspiration. Fela Kuti, Afrika Bambaataa and Kraftwerk were to replace Talking Heads, Devo and Happy Mondays. A bit of West End, a hint of the Caribbean, a dash of West Africa - and whole lot of pulsating post modernity - give RED a spicy new flavor.
Of course, neither scorpions nor rock bands can escape their natures, and during the making of RED, Datarock found their original muses were along for the ride: Gerald Cassale of Devo joined the creative process; the band found themselves sharing stages with the Mondays; and you'll hear quite a bit of evidence that Datarock's admiration for the Talking Heads (see the track "True Stories") remains intact.
Stay tuned for further information regarding the official North American release date for RED, along with tour dates.

Dri & Handsome Furs Announce Spring Tour, SXSW Dates To Come
For a female musician in the mix since she was 18, Dri has seen and done it all and these songs work through what mattered ("Don't Wait"), what matters ("Two Are One"), what a girl wants ("Indria", "Hot As Hades"), what a girl needs ("Inspiration"). What makes her happy is connecting with the music and as a distillation of her talents and influences, "Smoke Rings" is all Adrianne. As a sense of her seductiveness, however, "Smoke Rings" is pure Dri. "Smoke Rings" was recorded in Lawrence, Kansas by Jim Vollentine and mixed in Austin, Texas by Jim Vollentine. Mastered by Howie Weinberg. | |

Eulogies Announce US Tour w/ Middle Distance Runner
Eulogies band leader Peter Walker can also be heard in ‘The Wrestler,' the surprise hit film featuring an award-winning performance by Mickey Rourke as the washed up professional wrestler Randy ‘The Ram' Robinson. “The biggest thrill is to have my name in the credits of a Darren Aronofsky film,” Walker said. “The song actually fits the theme of the wrestler coming to terms with - and at the same time, missing - his past.” He contributed the original song '39 Stars' to the film, which plays during the thrift store scene. Walker added, “There's usually good indie rock playing in real-life thrift stores.”
‘Here Anonymous,' the band's upcoming full-length record, is set for release through Dangerbird Records on April 7th.

SAOSIN ANNOUNCED AS A 2009 VANS WARPED TOUR HEADLINER
Confirmed To Play Bamboozle Left On April 5th In Irvine, CA
"We've always been stoked to be a part of Warped Tour and can't wait to play songs from the new record for all the kids that come out this year," said frontman Cove Reber.
Saosin have become road warriors over the last few years, touring the world relentlessly since the release of their first EP, 2003's Translating the Name. They have played 3 Vans Warped tours, 3 Rockstar Taste of Chaos tours, 2007's Projekt Revolution tour plus multiple headlining treks and supporting outings with such bands as AFI, Avenged Sevenfold, My Chemical Romance, Incubus, Taking Back Sunday, Underoath and many others. They've played gigs in Australia, Japan, Jakarta, Indonesia, Bali and Singapore. In that time, they've released 2 EP's, their debut full-length and Come Close, a live CD/DVD set.
According to a Rolling Stone review of Saosin, "Saosin's spidery, riff-rocking attack is brawny and nuanced, and they know their way around a big chorus - barnburners like 'It's So Simple' and 'Come Close' will give you a dark head rush."
Before heading out on tour with the Underoath last fall, Saosin partnered with global youth brand Hurley to record demos in the Hurley Costa Mesa, CA studio and allowed fans to be apart of the process through a real-time, multi-camera audio/video feed streamed on hurley.com. The band laid down 18 tracks during the self-produced Hurley sessions. Three of the new songs plus acoustic versions of an older track were made available on The Grey EP which was sold during the Underoath tour and exclusively at hurley.com. In January, the band teamed up with producer Butch Walker (Sevendust, Fall Out Boy, Pink) to finish the album in a studio in Malibu, CA and once again, opened the sessions to fans with Hurley through real-time streams on hurley.com. The final album which fans have been eagerly awaiting is expected to be released in June.
