Catchy 60's girl-group pop with a DIY-punk influence, the concept of being "Home Free" is a literal one, as the band gave up their apartments in order to be able to spend more time on the road doing what they love. They've done everything on their own, booking several tours around the US and Europe, and were asked to perform at the Emmaboda Festivalin Sweden (w/Dinosaur Jr. and Of Montreal). The band will be touring up to SXSW behind Home Free.
"heavenly: [The Besties] music could whisk away the cynical and melt the hardest of hearts...pop bubblegum...Marisa and Kelly swap sugary vocals like class-Mates of State." - Magnet "First Exposure"
"we've been smitten with [The Besties'] ridiculously catchy sound....while pop-punk doesn't always shave the best connotations these days, for a group that evokes the Go-Go's recording for Epitaph, it's rather apt. - Time Out Chicago
"The romance of their brand of music is outstripped by some merited musicianship, all the cooing, girly elements sullied by some real-life issue lyrics and the occasional potty mouth." - Dusted Magazine
