Owen Pallet (Final Fantasy) To Work With The Rumble Strips On Upcoming Sophomore Release

Announce UK 2009 Tour 

Owen Pallet aka Final Fantasy is using his orchestral expertise to score the new Rumble Strips album. His previous work has included scoring the orchestral and string arrangements on Arcade Fires’ ‘Funeral’ and ‘Neon Bible’ albums and more recently on,The Last Shadow Puppet’s ‘The Age of The Understatement’.

On working with The Rumble Strips, Owen said:

“I'm excited... I don't get to run orchestral sessions as much as I'd like.  It's a real treat for me.  Working with the band and Ronson has been easy”

“The album is the most infectious record I've ever worked on.  It reminds me a bit of The La's.”  

 

“A record made by a rock band sounds like a studio, or a bar.  It sounds like fitted jeans and cigarettes.  An orchestra, on the other hand, can put a song in a range of times or places.  It can put Scott Walker in Copenhagen, or Sinatra in Vegas, or Aerosmith in space.”

The band are putting the finishing touches to their new record, recorded with Mark Ronson. More details to be announced shortly.

  

The Rumble Strips return with a 21 date UK tour this March to precede their as yet untitled second album. This is the band’s first headline tour since the Girls and Weatheralbum tour of Autumn 2007 and they are looking forward to getting up close and personal with their UK fans again.
