Two weeks have gone by since voting for the AFI Begin Transmission contest started. Five band chosen winners were picked and 13,000+ fans have participated in voting for the 6th and final winner, the Community Winner. The 850 fan auditions have earned over 100,000 votes and 10,000 comments. At 6pm pst AFI will announce the winner of the community vote, the last fan who has earned the right to sing on the new album.
However, this experience is far from over. The band has many more plans for Begin Transmission that will become a reality in the coming weeks. Including the opportunity for a handful of "Honorable Mentions"...i.e. I wouldn't go deleting those submissions just yet...
